​This album represents Post Coal Prom Queen's musing on the conundrum of nuclear semiotics through the lens of Scottish folklore and the Gaelic language. Following in the same vein as their previous releases, Music for Nuclear Semiotics puts Scottish language and culture in a setting it is not often associated with - the distant future. Is it possible to create a message that will last 10,000 years? Will language, or humans, even survive that long?

 

PCPQ chose the Gaelic language for this project due to its enduring spirit in the face of historical persecution and erasure. If Gaelic can survive this long and experience a resurgence in the 21st century, perhaps it may outlive us all and protect whoever, or whatever, comes after us.​​
